With the arrival of the new cafeteria and new food vendor, Sodexho, it was only fitting to have a new dining system to conform to the fast-paced lifestyle of the Alcorn student.
This school semester introduced students to the dining currency known as, "Flex Dollars". This gives students the convenience of ordering short-order food when they do not have the time of eating in the main cafeteria. Sodexho opened The 155° Grill and Pizza Hut Express (which is opening later in the semester) to conform to the "Flex Dollars" system.
There are four dining options that incorporates with meals in the cafeteria with the "Flex Dollars"; Option A is a 19-meal plan with $25 in "Flex Dollars", Option B is a 15-meal plan with $100 in "Flex Dollars", Option C is a 10-meal plan with $275 in "Flex Dollars" and Option D is a 7-meal plan with $400 in "Flex Dollars".
According to the Assistant Housing Director Mr. Stafford Williams, emails notifying students, faculty and staff about the recent changes where distributed before the fall semester began. Students were supposed to have chosen their meal plans during registration. If a meal option was not chosen by the student after August 20, the basic option (which is the 19-meal plan with $25 in "Flex Dollars") was automatically chosen as the student's meal option. The plan cannot be altered under no circumstances. If the student missed the deadline to chose an option, he/she will have to wait until next semester to chose his/her desired dining options. Bon Appetit!
